At Yoga Vidya School, you learn both the theoretical and practical knowledge of yoga and its postures ranging from our 200 hours teacher training course, 300-hour teacher training course, pranayama to alignment adjustment courses. Whether you are an intermediate yoga practitioner or an experienced yoga instructor looking to master the art of teaching advanced postures or a beginner yogic enthusiast, we cater all your requirements. We also take our students for various recreational activities like trekking, Ganga Aarti, outdoor yoga practice and river rafting for creating complete awareness regarding Mother Nature to our students.
Yoga Vidya School was established by Prashant Jakhmola, an experienced Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga master, in the world recognized cradle of authentic yoga, in 2014. School started from the drop-in classes and gradually developed. Now, the Yoga Vidya School in Rishikesh provides yoga teacher training courses to hundreds, approved by Yoga Alliance as well as a variety of short-term intensive yoga retreat courses. All their courses abide by the international standards and provide a holistic approach towards yoga.
The goal of Yoga Vidya School is to share the eternal wisdom, knowledge, and philosophy of yoga, which has been passed through the yogic traditions.
We believe that Traditional Yoga should be taught comprehensively. The course is designed according to the student’s experience and ability, however, concerning the traditional knowledge passed on and the right approach to the curious mind the students can thrive better in their lives.
Yoga Vidya has introduced language-based TTC to meet the requirements of international students. The goal is to fan out yoga in its authentic form throughout the world.
Being the family of the awakened ones we have taken efforts that will help in sustainable living. With our Karma Yoga initiative, cleaning the River Ganga is much appreciated. A clean drive is carried out by all our volunteers to save the pious river.

We provide different Yoga courses in Rishikesh, Kerala, Romania, and Russia. We aim to make students understand the real purpose of yoga, furthermore, to improve asana practice and even meditation aspects of practice. Students can have a one month traditional 200 hr teacher training course with Yoga Alliance certification or proceed with more specific programs such as yoga alignment and adjustment course (several levels), pranayama therapy course, and courses with specialization on traditional hatha yoga, ashtanga Vinyasa , and meditation.
Swami Atmajnanada Giri began his journey in the southern state of India, Kerala. He was educated in homeopathy and naturopathy and practiced for many years, helping people on a gratuitous basis. In 1992, Swami met Nitya Chaitanya Yati, one of the great masters of southern India, and later in 1998, he met his follower Sudhiya Chaitanya, who changed the course of his life. He traveled to India for 4 years as a sannyasin, then he studied Vedanta in Sivananda Ashram, a course of yoga teachers in Ahmedabad (Shivananda Ashram), Vedanta year in Arsha Vidya Gurukulam and 6 years spent in the ashram of Swami Ram Sadhak Gram in Rishikesh. After that, he decided to base his life on the banks of the Ganges in Rishikesh to teach yoga, give satsangs and continue to help people with homeopathy and naturopathy. Swami regularly visits Russia with his programs and believes in a deep connection between the Russian and Indian peoples. The spiritual leader of the school, Swami Atma is loved by all who are in contact with him. It can be said that this person in truth carries the light of yoga to people.
She started her yoga journey in 2009 and was lucky to get to know and practice yoga in different traditions, such as Sivananda Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Kriya Yoga and Yoga Iyengar also from traditional Indian masters. After graduation from Moscow University of Yoga in 2014, Ksenia Ji moved to India and started her work with a RYS in Rishikesh under the guidance of more proficient teachers. "India is incredibly rich with its knowledge and masters, thereby living here and practice in Rishikesh helped me to deepen into real Yoga, to uncover its hidden layers and furthermore to help other seekers to discover it." During her classes, Ksenia ji talks about yoga with an aim to build a bridge between an ancient yogic approach (mystical, spiritual) and modern science (knowledge of body) and to help western minds to digest eastern philosophy. She has years' experience teaching in 200hr, 300hr YTTC in Rishikesh, Kerala in India and Nepal and other special yoga courses and retreats in India and in Russia.
He started his yoga journey from 2000 in Rishikesh (world yoga capital) learning under the guidance of best local teachers. After many years of dedicated practice, Rahul ji has mastered in the science of Asana and since 2016, he's been happily sharing Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Hatha Yoga knowledge with his students in Yoga Vidya School, as well as the science of Alignment and Adjustment. Rahul ji has the experience and knowledge to understand what each student needs and ready to provide practice accordingly and with respect to the uniqueness of each and every person in the class.
Growing up in the yogic place Rishikesh helped him to digest this yogic knowledge. After practicing in Sivananda yoga tradition Prashant ji studied Iyengar yoga with one of the BKS Iyengar (Guru ji) disciple in Rishikesh. With this inspiring knowledge he was pulled towards yoga and went to Bihar School of Yoga (the first yoga university in India), where he did a yoga teacher training and yoga therapy course. After staying in the ashram he came back to Rishikesh to finish his academic study by graduation in biology and master degree in yoga science. “By combination of biology, yoga and my self-practice of asana I got understanding of alignment in asana which I share with my students.” Prashant ji is teaching traditional Hatha Yoga, its philosophy and holistic approach, which covers not only asana, but also breathing techniques and meditation part. He has also traveled with his special traditional yoga programs and 200hr, 300hr, 500hr Yoga Teacher Training courses to different countries such as Nepal, Russia, Indonesia and many places of India.
From an early age, he had a keen interest in learning asana practice followed by a balanced diet, which led him to explore the practice of Ashtanga yoga. He has devoted himself to learning ashtanga primary series over a year. He has been teaching teachers in Rishikesh, yoga capital of the world, since 2017. He likes to maintain discipline, positive energy and mindfulness in the class. His prime focus is to give the right knowledge to each student according to his or her body type.
Now a graduate from the famous Bihar school of yoga and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan center in Delhi, an experienced teacher, Sondish Singh taught yoga students in his Delhi studio and now he teaches in Rishikesh. He seeks to make a positive shift in education by applying a broad knowledge of yogic philosophy and psychology to the well-being of the community as a whole. Due to the knowledge and experience accumulated in various yoga schools, regular personal practice and community service, Sondish ji understands the importance of yoga for people. Specializing in the techniques of Pranayama, Meditation and Mantra, Sondish Ji always brings with it, a calming and soothing energy, for which students are so fond of him.
Prashant ji’s rich experience in training yoga teachers led him to understand that students need time and clearer specification in order to comprehend deep and vast knowledge of yoga. As a result, the Yoga Vidya School designed specific intensive short terms programs, which suits all level of practitioners and help them dive deeper into the different elements of Yoga.
Our school provides facilities for students participating in the intensive yoga retreat courses or the certified teacher training courses. The main purpose of those facilities is helping the students focus on their yoga training. The facilities mainly include comfortable accommodation and three times a day vegetarian food.
